Fast At-Home Arm Workout

Hi friends!

Another weekend! Last night we had some friends over for a delicious dinner, and I completely forgot to take a picture of it – asian chicken tenders, salmon (for me because I don’t like Adam’s asian chicken), mashed sweet potatoes, parmesan peppers, and broccoli. It was a much needed healthy meal, complete with lots of rich colors!

This morning, we woke up to thunderstorms and I knew that meant it was going to be a lazy day at home. Adam snuck away to the gym while I was still in bed, and when he got home, we made breakfast, then I went to the gym. I knew if I didn’t pull my lazy buns off the couch in the morning, they would remain firmly planted in place all day. I took it easy at the gym and just rode the bike for 40 minutes, then came home and did my arm workout while I caught up on my shows. AKA shamelessly catching up on Pretty Little Liars on Netflix.

Doing arm workouts at the gym aren’t my favorite because it always means navigating between the big butchy dudes and trying to stay out of the way, while simultaneously feeling like everyone is staring at my butt. So, I decided today to save myself the hassle and enjoy my workout in the comfort of my own living room. We’ve dug out our small collection of dumbbells, and added it to our newly purchased kettle bell, and I think it’s starting our collection off nicely. Granted, these dumbbells were actually mine before we got married so the weight of them won’t do Adam much good, but for now, it’s my own personal at-home gym! I figure a 5, 10, 15 (not pictured), and a 20 kettlebell are just about all a girl needs.

Here’s a rundown of what I did, to the best of my memory. Again, I am in NO way a personal trainer, so please don’t laugh if this sounds ridiculous, or the names of things don’t make sense! I tried my best to accurately describe the “moves.” I promise it will get your heart pumping, and keep you entertained during your TV time!

Readddddyyyyy, GO!

We’re heading out soon for a date night to a new-to-us restaurant. I’m already excited about eating more than my fair share of tacos and guac!

I’ll be back tomorrow sharing details of our guest-room/my office re-do. We finally got everything in place today, and all I’m missing now is a wood project I’m waiting on Adam to build for my race medals 🙂

Enjoy your weekend! Who’s excited about the Oscars tomorrow night?! This girl!

Do you enjoy arm workouts? Do you keep weights at home? What is your favorite arm “move”?

I also dislike doing arm work at the gym. I know it’s silly (and I shouldn’t care at all), but I feel like I am under scrutiny!

Me too! I think it’s totally weird for me to feel that way, but oh well 🙂 Same reason some people don’t like to run in front of other people I guess 🙂

I can’t wait to see the wood project for your race medals. I have been trying to find something to do with mine in the new house! Endless tacos and lots of guac sounds like my kind of place! Happy Weekending!

I can’t wait either ha! I’m thinking just something real simple, like a couple cut pallet boards with some cute knobs to hang my medals. Easy peasy!
