I’ve been the worst blogger, ya’ll! I keep telling myself I’ll find more time and get back on track, but it’s not going so well, ha! It’s making me sad that I haven’t gotten back into a good groove yet, but if we’re being completely honest, work has just been crazy (in the best of ways!) and by the time the kids get in bed, I’m next in line not long after! One thing I’ve noticed since starting this new job is that I just don’t have as much of a desire at the moment to “keep up with the joneses” online or on Instagram. I don’t remember the last time I sat down to read a bunch of blogs, and rarely put any thought into my personal Instagram posts. (This slightly stresses me out, I’ll admit it, but it also feels GOOD!) It’s just been quite the change of pace and my new job is much more mentally demanding than my previous one, at least for the time being. Someone asked me recently to describe it and explain how it was going, and I would simply say that it feels like this new position is like the past 6-7 years’ worth of experiences, responsibilities, skills, etc. all combined into one new role. So, I’m doing my best to get back on here when I can!
But, we recently were able to squeeze in some fall family photos and I’m SO glad we did! I love them so much, and I’ve already ordered a few for my new office. We took them in downtown Fort Worth at a large park, on the most beautiful Saturday a couple of weeks ago. The kids ended up doing so well, and Barrett was especially smiley! I agonized over our outfit palette but it ended up coming together perfectly and I’m loving my final choices!
Since it’s Thanksgiving week, I wanted to share a few of my very favorites with you. I’m so thankful for this little space to still come back to and reflect and document our story. It feels like coming back to my comfort zone and for that I am grateful. I’m also just currently in a season of motherhood where I’m content and satisfied, and really just happy in almost every area of life right now. My cup feels full in many ways, and often times I wake up thinking about how lucky I am to have what I’ve always wanted and dreamed about. Life is good right now, and I pray, Lord willing, we keep on truckin’!
So, Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! I’m not planning on popping back on until probably next week unless I somehow am super productive! We’ll be doing a fun pie night gathering tonight, a family lunch on Thursday, some early Black Friday shopping (online, of course!), a family hike on Friday, and who knows what else this weekend! I was hoping to run our local Turkey Trot on Thursday, but they’re calling for a “steady rain” that morning which is leaving me less than motivated to sign up. We’ll see, maybe the weather will change! I hope you guys are able to unplug as well this weekend and enjoy time with your loved ones! Soak it up!
PS Adam has lost 40lbs! HOW GREAT DOES HE LOOK?!!
