Oh hi! How is your weekend going? I’m popping in to share a new-to-me product and provide you with a chance to try them yourself with a giveaway!
Recently, the folks at Extend Nutrition reached out to me and asked if I’d be interested in trying out their bars. Extend Nutrition specializes in making protein bars that are clinically proven to help regulate blood sugar for 6-9 hours. They are made to metabolize slowly, which helps release a steady flow of energy. They are also great for helping people with diabetes stabilize their blood sugar overnight while they sleep! (Side note – a lot of midwives and OBGYNs believe that morning sickness can sometimes relate back to low blood sugar, which is one reason why it’s thought to be worse first thing in the morning, when you haven’t eaten anything all night. So if you’re pregnant, these bars might be a good idea for a midnight snack!)
Since blood sugar is also a big component of physical activity, these bars are perfect for runners or other endurance athletes. Lord knows it’s no fun to try and run when your blood sugar gets low, it’s miserable! Also, anyone else get ridiculously HANGRY when their blood sugar gets too low??
They’ve got several flavors, and you may have seen them for sale at Walgreens. Cookies & Cream, Mixed Berry, and Yogurt & Berry are each delicious. Adam and I have been snacking on these bad boys over the past week! Adam actually gave a couple to a few of his coworkers who have diabetic family members, and we’ve only heard good reviews so far!
They kind of remind me of a nutri-grain bar, at least as far as texture goes. They’re pretty chewy, and full of flavor.
Now, Extend Nutrition wants you to be able to try them out for yourself, and they’ve offered to giveaway a $25 gift card to use towards their products. Aside from these bars, they also make Shakes and Drizzles, and all of their products are gluten free and kosher.
To enter the giveaway, simply use the Rafflecopter below. I’ll announce the winner next Friday, September 25!
Have a great rest of your weekend!
Have you had problems with low blood sugar? Do you know someone who could benefit from these bars? Have you heard of Extend Nutrition before?
