Don’t. Give. Up.

Hi friends!

Today’s post is short and sweet!

Last night’s workout wasn’t as stress relieving as I would have liked. I took Miss Truckee to the lake for a run, and not going to lie, she was pretty horrendous the first quarter mile. Like, sniffing every blade of grass, acting like she had to go potty when I know full and well she didn’t, and pulling on the leash ahead of me. She eventually settled into her usual rhythm though, and was great! I think she was just so excited to get out of the house she couldn’t contain it! We ran two miles, with a little bit of walking mixed in. She actually seems to prefer to run, so whenever I slow down to let her walk, she just speeds back up! Silly girl. My 10k is tomorrow, and I would have really preferred to have run 3 or 4 last night, but I just didn’t have time. Hopefully I don’t regret that tomorrow!

When we finished our run, we sat and watched the sunset while we waited for Adam to pick us up. Truckee had a blast watching the ducks and geese fly by in front of us, but even though it’s in her blood, she’d never hurt a fly!

Don’t. Give. Up.

My husband found this image online last night and sent it to me, and it really hit home. Maybe you will appreciate it as much as I did!

I think this is incredibly true. When you’re chasing your dreams- your big, fat, juicy, passionate dreams, it’s hard not to let other people’s opinions and thoughts get in your way. It’s hard not to worry about what other people think, or what they will say. But if you can block it all out, stand taller, and keep your eye on the prize, I see no reason why you can’t accomplish whatever you want. First they will laugh, then they will copy. Imitation is the best form of flattery, and if you don’t go after your dreams, someone else will. You’re on your own journey, and if you don’t want the haters to come along, don’t invite them.

So here’s to not giving up! In whatever aspect that might be – blogging, running, your job, your biggest ambitions in life. Just go for it. Who cares what other people think! Because when you succeed, they’ll be sorry they ever doubted you!

Great quote! I’ll never forget when my adviser my freshman year of college told me I would never get a job as a teacher. Well I got one before I graduated and I was able to start right after I graduated. It’s a great feeling when you prove those wrong who doubted you. :)
