Last weekend, while my mother-in-law and I were shopping at Target, we came across the cutest bin of Christmas ornaments. I immediately picked up a furry ‘A’ to start off Adeline’s collection, but then we noticed how cute all of the ornaments surrounding it were. There were several woodland creatures, fur stars, and fur balls, and my MIL mentioned that it would be super easy to make a mobile out of them! So, we did! Well, she did. And it turned out perfectly!
To make it, we (my in-laws, I was busy attending to Adeline) picked out two sticks from the front yard that would serve as the top of the mobile. Then, we used jute to tie them together, and fishing line to attach the ornaments. My MIL cut off the ornament hanger from each item, and sewed the fishing line into the top of each. Then, we used tiny weights hot glued to the top of the sticks to make sure it leveled out evenly. The whole thing is then screwed into the ceiling above her crib.
I LOVE how it turned out. I hadn’t bought a mobile yet because I feel like the only ones I saw were overly “baby” or just not something I would want. This however is completely custom, and so special. The woodland creatures tie into her gallery wall, and the fur stars and ball tie into her fur rug. None of the ornaments are obviously “Christmas” either, so it will still be good year-round. I think Adeline will love it!
I’m loving her nursery more and more, and can’t wait for her to be old enough to appreciate it as well!
