Country Music + Reebok Promo Code

Happy Thursday! It’s almost the weekend ya’ll, so close! I’ll be busy bachelorette-partying-it-up (more like relaxing in a lakeside condo) and I can’t wait for some serious girl time. One of my best friends from college is getting married on 12-13-14 so it’s about time to kick the wedding festivities into high gear!

Today I’m just popping in to chat about two recent workouts, the healthiest meal I’ve eaten in weeks, and an online promo code for Reebok!

cycling for cross training

Tuesday night we went to the gym and both hopped on a bike. Sometimes I’m just not in the mood to run at all, so biking has been a good way to get a solid leg workout in without actually running. I did 13.1, and by the time I got done, my legs were feeling the burn! Just walking down the stairs to leave was a struggle. That jelly leg feeling is the best though! I kept the resistance between 6 at its lowest and 13 at the highest for just a few minutes! It was tough! I can tell that biking is making my legs stronger and is working different muscles than I’m used to, so I think I’ve found my favorite cross training method.

watching cmas

Last night was another gym night, and the CMA’s were on! I grew up in Nashville, so I’m pretty sure I’m required to watch the CMA’s every year, especially since they’re live at Bridgestone Arena, and come on, that’s my old backyard! I grew up going to concerts there! Anyways, I’m not a huge country music buff, but growing up in middle TN, you are definitely exposed to country music on the reg, and you grow up seeing country stars all over the place like it’s no big deal. Because really, they’re normal people too! I could tell you where several of them live, or previously have lived! But Nashville is so laid back, and if you’re actually from there, then these things are just normal. Heck, I remember seeing Keith Urban at the mall, Tim McGraw at a Christmas parade, Brad Paisley out shopping, and running by Alan Jackson’s old house. My brother even had a college class with Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum before they hit it big. So, I kind of feel like watching the CMA’s reminds me of my old country music obsessions, my childhood roots and memories, and going to CMA Fest in high school. The good ‘ole days! Nashville will always have a special place in my heart! (Franklin, specifically, 615 ya’ll)

I was running on the treadmill and thought Brad and Carrie’s opening monologue was hilarious! I was loudly cracking up, and the girl running next to me was also cracking up. I thought they did such a good job, and I can’t wait to see if Carrie is really having a boy! Can we also talk about Carrie’s SMOKIN’ HOT LEGS?! I mean really, what does she do??? If anyone knows what her workout routine is, please pass that info along!

I ran 3.6, each at an 8:49 pace, except for mile 3 which was 8:41. It felt good to get a few miles in, and I didn’t want to leave the gym just yet so I hopped on the bike and rode 5 miles. It definitely felt like a pretty solid brick workout, because going from the treadmill straight to the bike was challenging!

dog blocking tv

I came home to finish watching the awards and cook dinner, and Truckee snuggled up riiiiiiiight in front of me. Anyone else’s dog do this? I don’t think she knows how big she is or that her big head is always in the way. That dog.

healthy meal idea

For dinner, I baked some salmon, and steamed some green beans and broccoli. DELICIOUS. Also, don’t judge the slabs of butter on the green beans, I can’t help it that I’m southern and that’s just what you’re supposed to do.

Love Brad and Carrie. I have been obsessed with Carrie’s legs for years. Totally odd but her knees are fantastic, lol. I am anxious to hear if she’s really having a boy too! I am totally jealous of all the celebrity sightings you’ve seen! You’re right though, all of that is normal to them and they are just people. However, I love that you know where people live and just know the area in general.

I adore Country music (I grew up in Wyoming) and listen to it frequently while working. I can never get into it for working out though. I have one country mix on my phone, but have only used it once. I just never seem to be in the mood. I’m sorry I missed watching the CMAs last night. I usually do, but I am without cable and had to work late 🙁

I can’t get into it for working out either. I don’t know what it is, it’s just not fast enough or something!

Woah, you saw a TON of country music celebrities! I’m kinda jealous. 😉 I have only seen Luke Bryan live in concert, but I’d go again! He was a fabulous performer and has a good live singing voice too.

Not nearly as many as some of my friends or family, I was never in the right place at the right time! It’s just funny how often you see them and don’t even realize it’s them!

It’s good stuff, definitely a change of pace of what I’m usually listening to, but I love that it reminds me of home.

I love the country music and Nashville! I definitely wanted to move there at one point in my life. I can’t believe you just strolled by Keith Urban at the grocery store. I would have probably dropped my milk in shock or something.

Bahaha, not at the grocery store, it was at the mall 🙂 But it was fun, and just normal, you know? That’s the neat thing about being from there. You kind of expect for situations like that to happen!

I’ve been LOVING cycling lately, Tara. It’s bad. I’ve been loving it too much, it’s distracting me from running, but at least I’m still moving 😉

I love watching the CMA’s. I grew up on country music and always look forward to watching my favorite singers perform. I’m so envious that you grew up in Nashville! I bet that was so cool! I can’t believe you saw so many stars! I think I wouldn’t be able to talk if I saw Keith Urban!

Haha! It really is a cool place to grow up. But when you grow up there, it’s not as exciting as someone who’s not from there thinks it is 🙂 It’s just “home” and seeing stars on occasion and the famous landmarks is just your everyday!
