SLS3 Compression Socks Review + Giveaway

Recently I was given the chance to review a new-to-me pair of compression socks. If you’ve been a blog reader for a while, then you know I’m a huge proponent for them and wear them religiously on long runs and long races. Obviously, over the past 9 months my favorite compression socks and sleeves have taken up residency in the back of my drawer. But, when I started thinking about it, I realized that I could still very much benefit from them! So, when SLS3 contacted me and asked if I’d want to try a pair of their compression socks, I explained that I would love to, but just not for running at the moment. Instead, I would be using them for another reason – to help reduce pregnancy symptoms. I only wish I had started wearing them sooner!

sl3s compression socks review

One pregnancy symptom that every pregnant woman fears seems to be swelling – or joining the cankle club! Ick! Or better yet, sausage toes! Muahaha. No one wants painfully swollen feet and ankles, and aside from it being uncomfortable, it can be dangerous too. Unfortunately, there aren’t a ton of “cute” maternity compression socks out there, and the ones that are out there are very “medical” looking.

Compression socks also help keep your muscles refreshed, and maintain a healthy blood flow. This helps to reduce blood clots, which can be a very seriousΒ side effect in pregnancy. When you fly or are driving for long hours at a time, your doctor will usually recommend that you get up and walk around every 2-3 hours, for the very reason of preventing a blood clot. Wearing compression socks can help reduce the threat of a blood clot greatly!

For runners, compression socks are great for aΒ myriad of reasons, includingΒ improved muscle support, reducing muscle fatigue, reducing lactic acid build up, relieving soreness and pain, and the list goes on.

These compression socks from SLS3 are some of my new faves. Granted, it may have taken a small miracle for me to maneuver around the belly to get these on in the first place, but once I got them on and pulled up, I loved them immediately. (No joke, I think I about broke a sweat trying to pull them on!) They are very comfortable, with just the right amount of compression. I love the butterfly accents, and the hot pink is always a winner in my book. I am wearing a size XS/S and the fit was pretty spot on. They were a bit tall on me so I had to pull them down just a tad, but I think that’s just because I’m on the shorter side.

I can’t wait to wear them in a few months on a long run! But until then, I’ll be sporting them around the house to keep any swelling in check, and keep my little legs feeling good through these final weeks!

Now, here’s your chance to try a pair for yourself! Just enter using the rafflecopter below!

I’ve been recommending compression socks lately to my mother because she work at a job where she is on her feet all day and her legs get so sore and swollen. I know she would benefit from them!

Let’s face it, there are numerous companies out there producing compression gear for athletes but what caught my eye when I visited SLS3’s website is that there products are well thought out, developed, tested and then produced. On top of that they have a 100% guarantee which speaks volumes with me. Thanks for having the giveaway!

I have been training for a half ironman and I would like to try using compression as a recovery tool. Unfortunately, the price of these socks tend to run a little high…which has steered me away in the past. I think compression would help with a lot of calf soreness and plantar fasciitis (that has recently come into play). Plus, cant beat the color and girly details πŸ˜‰
