Color in Motion 5K Little Rock

Hi friends! Guess what? We’ve almost made it through another week! And you know what else? This week has been fan-freakin-tastic. I wanted to say a huge “THANK YOU” to everyone who left encouraging and happy comments regarding my last post!! I’m so excited, immensly blessed, and can’t wait to see where things go from here!

Last night was a workout-less night, as I was a busy bee editing an engagement photo session over on my other blog. If you’re in the mood for some ooey-gooey love, you can check it out HERE. While I was working, Adam took the pups for a run at the lake, then came home and we grilled some corn and enjoyed a plate of fresh strawberries and blueberries. Simple and fresh. If I will miss anything about summer, it’s the excuse to eat “snacky” dinners.

The night before, I did an easy 3 at the lake, and definitly had to walk between miles so I didn’t die of heat exhaustion. I’m seriously ready for some cooler temperatures! Anyone else??

And now, I have something extra fun for you! And especially fun for my local readers, as well as the running community here in Arkansas! So listen up fellow Little Rockers!

On Saturday, September 28, Color in Motion 5K is coming to Little Rock!!

The Color in Motion 5K marketing team recently contacted me and asked if I would be interested in helping to promote their awesome event!

Well, butter my biscuits, I would love to!

Where: Arkansas State Fair Grounds, 2600 Howard St.

Charity Partner: United Cerebral Palsy of Arkansas

Time & Date: Saturday, September 28th, 9:00 AM. AKA the best time of year to run!

Color in Motion 5K is exactly what it sounds like- a fun run involving a ridiculous amount of color! Straight from their website…

“It is your moving body plastered in an explosion of vibrant color with all your friends!  How many times have you paid money to run around a few city blocks, drink a cup of warm Gatorade, eat a banana, and be given a t-shirt that you will probably only wear once every two months while doing yard work? Why not color outside the lines while being active, social, and a little wacky! The Color in Motion 5k gives you all these benefits plus unforgettable fun and heaps of memories!  By the end of the CIM5k your blank canvas will be brighter than ever–your clothes, health, and outlook on life will be changed for the better”

Check out this promotional video for a better look at the event!

If you’re a serious runner, you can still run, but it’s also a PERFECT 5K for social runners, people who are just starting to get into running, people who want to walk it with some friends, or lovers of color and all things fun! The race is NOT TIMED! So, no stress there! Who cares what your time is when you’re running through an explosion of color anyways??

The actual color is a combination of corn starch and dye that is 100% safe and biodegradable, is the consistancy of powdered sugar, and will wash out of clothing and shoes.

You’ll want to wear WHITE to get the full benefits of all the colors! In fact, in your race packet you’ll receive a Color in Motion white tshirt, along with…

“…a Color In Motion 5K bracelet, and a packet of COLOR! You can use your color to throw on your friends as you run or save it until the end to attack them with color in our post race dance party! We recommend saving your color ’til the end so you can partake in all the crazy color goodness that the post race party has to offer.  There will also be plenty of super colorful swag you can buy at the race:  tank-tops, shirts, socks, hats and last but not least… we are bringing back the fanny pack!”

Here’s a look at a recent Color in Motion 5K in Dallas…

Look like a blast? Want to help out an amazing organization? Ready to be active AND have fun at the same time? You know I’m a big advocate of getting out there and MOVING!

Love the look of that run! I’m doing a Color Me Rad in October, and I’m pretty excited!

Hope this one is just as fun!

There are so many of these ‘fun’ runs coming out now. It’s great. I did the colour run, and while I hated it, I loved it too. And if it encourages people who are not fit to get out there and move, then I’m all for more of these sort of events.

Woo yeah! Color runs are pretty darn fun. I did one last year and was cleaning blue corn starch out of my ears and noses for days. Very attractive. On a sidenote, I am very much interested in ooey gooey love photos and will have to visit your other blog! 🙂 Have a great weekend!

FUN! I did the Color in Motion 5k here in Tacoma in July. It was pretty cool to have color thrown on you!

    Great 5k!
I’ve wanted to run a color run, just for fun for so long! There was one that ran right by our place in Denver a few weeks ago, and I was so jealous that I was plane and not colorful like everyone else! They looked like they were having much more fun than I was 😉

Ashley- It really does look like a blast!! We’ve had a few color runs come through our town, but I’ve never been able to do one! Definitly adding it to my running bucket list 🙂
