Happy Christmas Week! It’s officially the most merry week of the year, and I know I’m going to blink and the big day will be here. This Christmas season has been oh so special, and precious, and fun, and every other happy word in the book. There’s just something so magical about Christmas time with a little one and I’ve been busy soaking it all up like a sponge. Just when I thought I couldn’t love Adeline more, we go and make new family memories together and it’s like she turns more and more into the sweetest little girl. I’ve loved seeing the wonder in her eyes and the pure joy as she spots “yights” and “anta” like it’s her job. Heaven on Earth must be the month of December with a two year old.
We were supposed to take a big trip last week, but we ended up staying home and having a staycation instead. We made the most of it, and I’d say we had a pretty fantastic week just the three of us. We checked several things off our DFW Bucket List and I think we squeezed in as much Christmas fun as we possibly could. We went to the zoo, the aquarium, looked at lights, built a gingerbread house, finished our Christmas shopping, wrapped presents, went to a potluck, strolled through the most festive little town, and the list goes on. I was planning on having another post up today, but felt like instead I should reflect back on this past week, and celebrate those memories. We’ve been focusing on living in the now, and living less for social media and everyone else, and it has been so, so good.
Instead of sharing a million pictures from our week, here are the Instagram highlights if you missed them. I’ve been loving reverting back to classic Instagram and using it as more of a scrapbook, instead of stressing so much about the perfect shot or the # of likes. For me it’s the easiest way to share photos to friends and family, and is the most convenient way to look back at old times. And because I’m kind of over this whole Instagram fad of having to be perfect, and I love my life too much to worry about it!
I’m just so thankful for this little family of mine, and for getting the chance to experience these moments with my favorite little girl. She won’t remember this year, but I will never forget it!
