Christmas 2013: Our Day

Merry Christmas, everyone! How was your holiday?! I can’t believe Christmas is already over, but in our house, it isn’t REALLY over until the tree comes down. Probably mid-January! I might be better about it this year, we’ll see how it goes. Maybe we’ll turn our tree into a year ’round holiday tree. It’s such a pain to take down anyways!

As you know, my MARATHON is FINALLY happening!!!! T-minus two days. Actually more like a day and a half now. The weather forecast looks awesome-sauce right now…race start time should be ~34*, and by the time I wrap things up, the high should be in the low 50’s! Much better than the negative numbers and ice that took over Memphis a few weeks ago! I will definitely have to be careful not to start out wearing too much, since it’s much more dangerous to overheat than to be too cold! I need to get my outfit picked out, but don’t worry, I’ll fill you in!

Adam and I were blessed this year to be able to spend a weekend each with both of our families the two weeks leading up to Christmas, and then Christmas Eve we had some of our friends over for a nice dinner, and then Christmas day we spent just the three of us in our home together. This is the first in a series of photo dumps, reviews, and a delicious recipe! I don’t post many pictures on this blog from my nice camera, so get excited! Speaking of pictures, you can check out my latest engagement session here if you’re in the mood to ooh and aww.

First, here is our Christmas day photo recap. As usual, things revolved around our dog-child. Enjoy!

Christmas Eve dinner- ham, green bean casserole, and scalloped potatoes. Mmm.

For breakfast, I made a version of Pioneer Woman’s Cowboy Quiche. Recipe post is coming soon!

One of the sweet things my husband surprised me with was a subscription to Stride Box!!!

You can’t really see in the picture, but it’s a handmade sterling silver infinity sign necklace :)

Truckee was pooped after a long day of opening presents!

For dinner we had leftover ham and made ham and cheese rolls, before going to see Saving Mr. Banks!! (SO good! Go see it RIGHT NOW!)

New to your blog through MilePosts:) What cute decorations! Love your tree and those wooden ornaments! You and your hubby look so cozy and happy. I remember those days of quiet Christmases with just my hubs and I well. Now we have two little ones and Christmas takes on a whole new dimension. Both are great in their own way. Beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing.
