A Butt Burning 2 Mile Stroller Workout

Happy Friday! Who’s ready for the weekend?? Uh, ya. This girl is. We’ll be celebrating our nephew’s third birthday party tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited! We have 8 nieces and nephews, so anytime we actually get to be present for birthday celebrations, it’s a real treat. I picked up the cutest gift, and I might share it on the blog next week because I’m super excited about it…I’m definitely maintaining “cool aunt” status I think.

Last night I picked up Adeline and we went straight to the lake for a nice long walk. It was a little chilly, but I desperately needed to squeeze in my second workout for the week since I knew it would be an extra busy one. Adeline happily ate her (new fave!) Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies, and kept me company along our route. I decided to incorporate some bodyweight exercises Β to make it an even more productive walk since I didn’t have time to hit the gym. I’ve been working on literally getting my butt in shape lately, so squats and lunges were calling my name.

Adding a few extra exercises throughout a walk is a quick and super effective way to get your heart rate up and work a few extra muscles! I decided to simply add 3 sets of either walking lunges or goblet squats every half mile, and it did the trick. Nothing too crazy, but just enough. Once we were done with our walk, I felt like our 2 mile walk was actually a butt workout! Not too shabby for also getting to enjoy the sunshine with my girly! She laughed and smiled as I did each exercise, and we counted out loud together. (I mean, I counted!) After each exercise, she gave me a high five, and we kept moving. She also pointed at every dog she saw, and stretched her legs.

Next time, I’d like to try adding step-ups on the benches along the path, or maybe even tricep dips if we’re feeling fancy! Give it a try, anyone can do this workout!

Such a good one! I’ve actually never done a workout like that with the stroller. Our weather is just too finicky right now to even get out on a walk, ha. I’m glad you got to combine time with your girly and a workout!

Thanks! Me too! Yesss the weather is crazy right now – one day it’s 70 something and the next it’s back to the 40’s or 50’s. I’m ready for warm everyday! But maybe not HOT, just a perfectly pleasant 75 haha

Yuuuup, I definitely need this! You are so right that your butt is the first thing to go during pregnancy/after a baby. I was shocked how much that changed and it’s taken a lot of work to get it back! Pinned for later!

Hahah it really is!! So sad haha. My husband is a huge advocate for squats and lunges so it’s been extra motivational now that he’s doing them on the reg!

This is just what I need!! My little guy has been taking some super short naps this week and it’s been really hard to work out. This came at the perfect time for me, thanks!

Do it! I hadn’t thought about doing it when I take Truckee for a walk – that’s a good idea!
