Happy Sunday, friends!
Hope you’re enjoying your weekend as much as I am! I feel like I have a love/hate relationship with Sundays, since I either A) need to do an enormous amount of laundry, but B) I’d rather take a nap or lay on the couch, since C) it’s my birthday and I can do anything I want, even though I know D) I will regret not doing that laundry tomorrow morning, and will especially regret E) not cleaning the kitchen as soon as I get home from work tomorrow. Sundays are for thinking you’ll be productive when really you won’t.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I started my birthday weekend festivities yesterday morning with the first annual Little Rock Downtown Dash 10K! There was also a 5K option, and from what I hear, close to 600 runners registered! I’ll let you in on the full review in a day or two, but all in all, it was great! I ran it for fun, relaxed the whole time, didn’t stress about my times, and thoroughly enjoyed each mile. I didn’t PR, but I’m okay with that since that wasn’t my goal. I finished in 57:04 according to my Garmin, an 8:58 mile. My official time was 57:15, and 5th in my age group.
After the race, I met my husband for a huge breakfast at a local mom ‘n pop restaurant. I wish I had taken a picture of my omelette because it was HUGE. And delicious. And we will be going back very soon!
The rest of Saturday afternoon I spent at the house, cleaning and getting ready for friends to come over for a cookout. I forget how nice it feels to have a clean house sometimes, and am also puzzled at how 2 people and a dog can make such a mess in such a small amount of time! I know this problem will only get worse through the years
For dinner, Adam grilled burgers and bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños, one of our friends brought cheesy potatoes, and for dessert Adam made a cast-iron skillet Reese’s peanut butter cookie cake, complete with a “25” on top.
The bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños might be my favorite thing ever! We actually refer to them as, “Inglepeños.” The stuffing is a combination of cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, pepper, and garlic. Basically all of the good ingredients in life.
For my gift, Adam bought me an ENTIRE new running outfit! Nike Shorts, lulu sports bra, and lulu tank top. I am completely spoiled!
If only a TAN came with my gift. Dear goodness. Have I seen the sun, ever??
Not intended to be a boob shot. Mmkay? But to show how cute the polka dots look with the tank! Adam and the girls at Lululemon coordinated everything perfectly!
The. Shorts. Have. POCKETS.
Obsessed with the scalloped edges on the tank top. It’s also made with the Silverescent technology, which keeps odor causing bacteria from growing! FYI, this comes in about 5 million different colors. Check it out, HERE! Bali Breeze, I’ve got my eyes on you!
The sports bra is the Flow Y from lululemon. This also comes in multiple colors, but after going back today after church to look at other colors, I decided to stick with what he picked out originally. Can’t go wrong with neutrals, and it will go with EVERY tank top I own! Those of you who are a bit more “blessed” or just want more support in general, you may want to try the Energy Bra instead!
Didn’t he do good?? I thought so too!
My parents sent me a bouquet of beautiful, vibrant tulips, and I am excited to have a pop of color in the kitchen for a few days! Praise!
Tonight we’re off to small group, for the first time in several weeks. Can’t wait to catch up with everyone!
But for now, time to eat the rest of my birthday “cake”, and ignore the huge mess in my kitchen. I’m sure a little fairy will come along and clean it eventually.
PS, don’t forget to check out my JANJI review, and get your promo code! Just a few more days!
How was your weekend?? Did you race? If you didn’t race, were you able to get outside and enjoy some fresh air?!
