Merry Belated Christmas, friends!
I hope you’ve been enjoying this week as much as I have, and have taken the time to step back and enjoy the things that really matter. I didn’t mean to leave you hanging, but once the clock struck ‘weekend’ I decided to do my best to log off and unplug as much as possible. It’s been a magical Christmas, and we’ve had SO much fun as a family celebrating. Seeing the holidays through Adeline’s eyes is just the best, and I have loved every single second.
Christmas time always leaves me a sappy mess, and I can’t help but to wish it wouldn’t pass by so quickly. It feels like it comes and goes in a blink, and I still haven’t figured out how to make it slow down! I love every holiday, but there’s something extra special about the Christmas season, and how it merges right into the New Year season that I love so much.
With a new year on the horizon, I’m left reflecting back on 2017, and starting to make goals and dreams for 2018. I always love this time of limbo between Christmas and New Year’s and try my best to spend it being productive and proactive. We’re still riding that Christmas high, but I think we’re all ready for a clean slate and a fresh start. (I’m already itching to take down all our Christmas decorations and pack away the red!)
I thought about doing a full Christmas recap, but have decided to keep our Christmas morning family pictures in the memory books. One of my goals for 2018 is to try and figure out where the line is for what to share, and what not to share. Adeline is getting older, and I need to start giving her a little more privacy when the time is right. Christmas morning is such a special morning, full of sweet memories and cozy jammies, that I’d like to keep these pictures to ourselves this year. I already shared several on Instagram, so follow me there if you’d like a peek into our big day!
I’ll be back soon with a post on how I’m getting organized in 2018, as well as some new year’s resolutions. In the meantime, I’ll be attempting to clean up the mess that is the post-Christmas disaster and putting away Adeline’s new toys. I think it’s safe to say I’ve never been so happy to have a playroom!
How was your Christmas? What was the favorite gift you gave or received? What did Santa bring your littles? Are you starting to make 2018 goals? How do you decide what to share?
