Bedtime Blast: 30 Minute At-Home Workout

Hi friends! And happy JULY 1! It’s going to be a short, but busy week, with it being the 4th of July! This is always one of my favorite small-idays and I can’t wait to celebrate with friends and take Barrett to see his first fireworks. We have some fun plans for the 3rd, and I’m assuming we’ll spend the actual 4th at the pool. I need to gather our red/white/blue outfits, and dig up the glow sticks I bought like a month ago! I also need to put together our July to-do list. With a beach trip and a first birthday coming up, I’m feeling the need to be extra productive this month!

I actually just wanted to pop in this morning to share a workout I’ve been doing in our garage after the kids go to bed. Or, a version of it at least. I tried to combine the past few workouts I’ve done into a nice circuit the best I could, so it would be easy to replicate. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – investing in some simple home gym equipment was the best thing I ever did for myself. (If you re-read that old post, definitely still working on my goals!) I feel like I have come leaps and bounds in such a short amount of time and can already feel like I’m toning up quicker than if I was just relying on walks and the occasional run. I’ve been making an effort to hit the garage after bedtime at least 3 nights a week, and I’ll turn on a podcast and get to work! (Current fave: Chatty Broads!) Sometimes, Adam will be out there as well and it’s almost like a little at-home date. I’m still loving my weight bench I purchased off of Amazon, and would love to eventually add a Bosu ball to my collection, as well as a 30 lb kettlebell. .

Let me know if you try this workout! I estimated about 30 minutes, depending on how quickly you breeze through these exercises and how much rest you include. Obviously, to get more bang for your buck, you want to complete each move as quickly as possible, but also use as much weight as you can handle without having to take a break. The goal is to push yourself, but not over-do it!

I decided not to share a weekend recap today, since our weekend was pretty much already shared on Instagram. ๐Ÿ™‚ We swam, we splashed, we cleaned, and we planted a NEW TREE! Which, I’ll have to share more about later. But, it was another beautiful weekend spent at home with those I love and cherish the most.

What are your plans for the 4th? Do you have a garage gym?
