Today has officially turned into a rest day. I’ve used up all of my energy the past two days and my body needs to chill tonight. Last night’s workout was going to be an easy strength training workout only, but when multiple overly muscular male figures surrounded me on the treadmill last night during my warm up mile, I just couldn’t stop. And, I totally won, and out ran all of them. Muahaha. Kiddddddding. Kind of.
I did 3 miles:
with about a minute of rest between each mile. Not going to lie, it felt really good to stretch my legs and RUN HARD. And judging by the great salt lake that formed on my face, the ‘ole ticker enjoyed it as well.
After my run, I hopped off and did a complete hot mess of a strength workout. I think I need to follow some sort of gym plan, or something, because I just go from A to X to P to C to G to L to Z. Should there really be a method to my madness? I tend to grab whatever equipment either isn’t being used, is closest to me, looks the least complicated, and I know how to use the best.
I did arm weights, then some leg machines, then some more arm weights, then some medicine ball ab twists, then some yoga ball crunches, then some kettle bell squats, then some bosu ball squats, then some more arm weights. Works for me! Either way, it was a beast, and I am paying for it today.
And before I left, I caved and did what we all hate. I took a gym selfie.
Kind of feel like this picture makes me look like there’s a baby bump going on. Rest assured, that’s just my ice cream lump from the night before. Cookies ‘n Cream AND Moose Tracks. It’ll getchya.
Unexpected tough workouts are the best. I feel accomplished, strong, and ready to lay on the couch tonight.
What are your favorite workouts? What is your favorite gym equipment? How many rest days do you take?
