Adeline’s First Real Halloween: A Mouse Tale

Hello hello!

How was your Halloween? Ours was about as eventful as you’d expect with a tired one year old! We got Adeline all dressed up so she could celebrate for a little while before bedtime, and she was absolutely adorable. She didn’t technically trick or treat, but one of our neighbors did come to her so she could pick out her candy! So sweet. He was dressed as a werewolf, and she was a little hesitant at first but as soon as she was able to grab her Snickers she was all good.

Even though Halloween isn’t my favorite, I think having Adeline will definitely make it more fun. I love seeing her find joy in the little moments that I normally wouldn’t, and watching her discover all of these new, fun things about each holiday is just the best. I wish I could remember what that was like, but it’s so special being with her as she experiences all of these “firsts” now that she’s big enough to really be a part of them! Well, last year was her actual first Halloween, but she was still just a wee little babe and we most definitely did not leave the house!

Here are some quick pics from her first real Halloween, as I’m calling it. Can I dress her like this every day? Please?

I’m already brainstorming what she’ll be next year – maybe we can incorporate Adeline’s noble steed, Truckee, somehow!

How did you celebrate Halloween? What was you or your little’s costume? Favorite halloween candy?

Oh my goooodness, my heart is bursting. She is just the cutest little mouse I have ever seen 😉 . Looks like it was such a good time. My husband and I went to a family Halloween party- he was the 2nd amendment (he wore giant bear arms), and I was Holy Guacamole.. I little play on words action! Here is a picture: https://mackmarie.com/2016/10/19/long-time-no-update/ . I can’t wait until we have a little one of our own to put in a cute little costume. Also- I love her pink pumpkin ! Ahh still can’t get over the cuteness. xo
