There’s just something about the “little” holidays that are so much more fun now that I have a “little” of my own to experience them with. For Valentine’s Day this year, we kept it simple – just a few special treats that are as practical as they are cute. I picked up most of these items over the past month or so, mostly in the Target Dollar aisle. I couldn’t resist treating Adeline to some festive holiday books, a new bow, and some fresh mealtime accessories! We’ve really been loving reading books every night before bed and Adeline is in the stage now where she insists on reading at least five. (Seriously, she’ll say “buu buu” until you grab another book, even after we turn off the lights.) These Valentine’s books are going to be very well loved on, I’m sure.
I let Adeline open her Valentine’s bag last night so that we could read her books at bedtime, but truth be told she was much more excited about her new cup than anything else. I could have just gotten her a cup and called it a day! Silly girl.
Today I’m focusing on showing my girl just how much I love her, and spending a little extra time soaking up her love in return. My hope is that we are able to teach Adeline that Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romantic love, but love for everyone in your life – your friends, your family, your peers, your coworkers, your teachers, etc.
I put together Valentines for her classmates, and I’m excited to see her Valentine mailbox at school that they decorated! I can’t wait until she starts having parties at school for every holiday – so many fun things to look forward to!
Love you to the moon and back my little Adeline Valentine <3
Hopefully this weekend Adam and I can sneak away for a date night. I can’t believe it will be our 9th Valentine’s Day to celebrate together!
PS did you see the GORGEOUS flowers he had delivered?! Hydrangeas to match my wedding bouquet and 2 dozen red roses! WHAT! Somebody got some husband points…
