Yesterday I had a heart-to-heart with Adeline, and told her that it was a-ok for her to arrive anytime now. The world is a scary place, but it’s much more exciting than floating around inside my belly forever. I let her know that…
Big sister Truckee has been preparing for your arrival ever since February. She may think you’re a puppy, but she’ll learn. She’s going to want to share her bones and squeaker with you, but I imagine now that you’ve been listening to the squeaker for 9 months, you could have already guessed that. She’s also going to want to lick you a lot, but she’s not too awful slobbery.
Cousin Henry is so excited to play with you! He will probably want to share his trains with you, so get ready. He also likes to eat a lot, so you might have that in common. He’s a hoot, and I can’t wait to see the two of you interact! He will be your closest cousin in age, and I hope you two share a special bond!
Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Daniel are ready for a new niece! Auntie Jennifer will love spoiling you silly, and if you can’t pronounce Daniel right away it’s okay. I used to call him Deel.
Grammy and PDaddy are more than ready to meet their first granddaughter. Grammy has been shopping for you for months, and I can’t wait for the day PDaddy introduces you to the world of fart jokes. I have a feeling you will have Grammy and PDaddy wrapped around your finger.
Honey and Pops are so excited to add to their clan as well! You will be the 6th grandchild on that side, and will always be protected and looked out for by your big cousins! Honey and Pops are pretty great, you’re one lucky little girl.
Auntie Jo is ready for another little girly to love on! She is full of spunk and may even bake you some fun goodies one day, if you’re lucky!
Auntie Anna and Uncle Andrew are ready to love on you too! Auntie Anna is going to take lots and lots of pictures of you, so I hope you’ve been practicing your smile. And Uncle Andrew and your dad are pretty much one in the same, so be prepared. There’s always some sort of silly schnanigan going on!
Jack, Rhett, and J may not show much interest as first because you’re a girly girl, but rest assured they will be like your big brothers! J will finally not be the baby anymore, and will gladly pass that role on to you!
Maggie and Layla are thrilled to have another girl on the girl team! They already have big plans in place to teach you things like how to be a princess, how to curl your hair, and how to do somersaults. Be prepared for lots of kisses from these little mothers!
Your great-grandfather on your dad’s side, Gramps, will be ecstatic to meet another great grandchild! What a blessing! He’s a pretty cool guy, and sometimes your dad looks just like him! Also, he tells some pretty funny jokes.
Your great-grandparents on my side are also chomping at the bit to meet another great grandchild! Your great-grandmother always guessed you were a girl. Somehow she just knew. I call them MawMaw and PawPaw, and they are going to love you so much. I can’t wait to see them hold you.
I so wish you could have met your other great grandmothers. Both were amazing women, and would have been tickled pink to meet you! I know they’re watching though, so no need to be sad!
All of our friends have been asking about you constantly for the past 9 months. You are already so loved, and I can’t emphasize that enough. We have been so blessed by their well wishes, gifts, and thoughts and I can’t wait to show you off! We’ll start off slow though, so you aren’t too overwhelmed. There are a lot of people who are itching to meet you!
Lastly, your dad and I are so excited to finally see what you look like. I don’t think either of us ever imagined this journey would go by so quickly, and now, we’re days away from having you in our arms. Sometimes I imagine you’ll have auburn hair and blue eyes, but other times I think it might be dark brown because that’s what I was born with. Whatever you look like though, you will be fearfully and wonderfully made. You’re about to turn our world upside down, so be easy on us! We promise we will do our best, and besides, you won’t remember our blunders anyways 😉
