This weekend was all kinds of wonderful. There’s nothing better than spending time with family and friends, showing off your sweet little babe. There aren’t enough words to describe how great our weekend was so I’ll keep it short. Prepare for a photo dump! Also, if anyone would be interested in hearing my tips for road-tripping with baby, let me know! Now that we’ve done it twice, we’re basically seasoned pro’s, right?
So we left after work on Thursday, figuring Adeline would sleep the whole way since she’d be exhausted after daycare. We got on the road around 7 pm and girlfriend slept the ENTIRE 5 hours! We made it to my parent’s house at exactly midnight, with only one stop halfway for gas and a bathroom break. AMAZING. I was so proud of my sweet, sleepy lady! The only downside – when we got there and got her out of her carseat, she decided it was party time. I ended up sleeping with her in the recliner for a couple hours until she finally passed out and I transferred her to the rock n play.
Friday consisted of hanging out at home, showing her Downtown Franklin and my dad’s office, and meeting a few of my best friends, as well as my grandparents. I grew up hanging out downtown, walking and shopping along Main Street, and have always dreamed of the day I’d get to walk my own daughter around and show her my favorite little shops and restaurants! Still totally surreal, and weird let’s be honest, but my heart had so much fun strolling along “showing” her one of my favorite places on Earth. (Even if she was in the stroller completely covered and sound asleep.)
Adeline is turning into a turkey. A Butterball Turkey. She is too cute!!! Look at these smiles. She’s got my mom wrapped around her finger!
Saturday, my grandparents came over to spend some more time with Adeline, then Saturday night my parents watched her so Adam and I could have a date night! We saw the new Star Wars movie, and I loved every second! I’ve decided I need my own BB-8.
Little bit was exhausted after family time, and apparently everyone else was too.
Sunday, my brother and sister in law, and our nephew came over before we hit the road. Little man was sick on Thursday, so we didn’t want to risk him giving Adeline anything on Saturday. We were finally able to exchange Christmas gifts, and my SIL made me the CUTEST pregnancy photo book. I’m SO glad I took so many photos during those 9 months. I will always cherish those memories!
We had a pretty uneventful drive home, and both Adeline and Truckee were happy to assume their usual positions. My sweet, sweet children!
And now we’re back at the start of another work week! I’ve got BIG goals this week to get outside after work and walk or jog some, so we’ll see if I can make it happen! I’m COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS until the sun is out longer and Adeline and I can go walking every night! I’m also looking into investing in a good jogging stroller, especially since Adeline will be able to ride in it safely pretty soon! If you have jogging stroller suggestions, let me know! If you tell me BOB, I will roll my eyes and ask you if I’m made of money. But really, I’m hoping to keep it in the below $200 range!
