One of the best parts about Christmas time with a little is making new traditions as a family. So far, we’ve got candlelight service, gingerbread house, looking at Christmas lights, Christmas Eve jammies, sugar cookies, and a Christmas day parade on our list. But, I think this is one of my favorite Christmas traditions yet! Adeline gets a special Christmas outfit every year and this year it’s a reindeer smocked dress from her Grammy. There’s just something about smocked dresses that will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I’m still sad over the fact that she can’t wear last year’s smocked dress again! They’re just timeless, classic, and age appropriate – the perfect outfit for a sweet (and sassy) little girl. Maybe it’s a southern thing, but smocking – you melt me.
Last year’s Christmas pictures we took in her Mrs Claus outfit, and I still love how they turned out. She wore a Santa smocked dress on Christmas Day though, but I only have a few pictures of her in it. To make sure I got more pictures of her in her smocked dress this year, other than just church and the big day, we snuck down to our favorite field last night and had ourselves a mini photo shoot. Adeline ham’d it up, thanks to her Daddy behind me making her laugh. These poses could not show her personality anymore perfectly!
Merry almost Christmas everyone! I hope you have plans to enjoy the long weekend with your loved ones doing all of your favorite things! Soak up the magic, take family photos, eat an extra cinnamon roll, and slow down on that stocking! Enjoy every moment, friends!
