Hi there! I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to stop by Sweet Miles. My name is Sarah and I am a full time working mom, as well as a blogger, photographer, and fitness enthusiast. I wear many hats, but motherhood by far is my favorite. This blog is truly my creative outlet, and serves as a space for me to document our life in a way that most gives me joy.
My husband Adam is also a full time working parent – working in the technology start-up industry. He’s recently jumped on board to occasionally help bring another point of view to the blog. He’ll be serving up content related to all things dad life, tech, nerdism, and his own fitness journey. He’s my number one fan, my partner in crime, and the Han to my Leia. Becoming a dad sometimes get a negative wrap, so he’ll be here from time to time to encourage, support, and share a positive (and fun!) perspective.
We have one daughter, born in the fall of 2015, and are currently expecting baby #2! I blogged throughout my entire pregnancy, and haven’t stopped blogging our pride and joy. We had a blast revealing her gender to our families, which you can watch and read all about here. There’s nothing better than navigating first time parenthood with your best friend, and so far I’d say we’re doing a pretty good job!
I also blogged her birth story, which you can read here. We are blessed beyond measure, and so thankful for a wonderful birth experience.
She has since morphed into the sweetest and most fun little girl. Life with a toddler is anything but boring and she’s regularly featured on the blog. I love documenting her adventures, milestones, and everything in between.
I originally started Sweet Miles as a way to document my running journey, races, and overall fitness. I covered a lot of miles, and I loved being a devoted member of the running community. In my running days I completed 2 marathons, 7 half marathons, and dozens of shorter races. My marathon PR is 4:32:37 and I’ll forever have that number tattooed on my heart.
Since becoming a mom though, running is becoming less and less a priority, and instead I’m focusing on maintaining an active lifestyle, embracing my new role as a mom, and finding balance with everything I do. I’ve learned there are many miles in life, not just the miles you travel as a runner. I’m soaking up these miles, no matter how tough they are, because they truly are the sweetest.
On this blog, you will find my humble attempts at staying active and healthy as I journey through motherhood. I often review fun products, share our family’s favorite recipes, document our daughter’s milestones, and try to motivate others through easily replicated workouts. You’ll also find occasional posts from my husband, which I believe is only fair – he’s the other half of this equation, and I love hearing things from his point of view. Being a dad, and being a mom, has changed us, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
