A Winner & A Baby

I’m back! I feel like I’ve been away from the blog for way too long. Okay, two days isn’t THAT long, but it’s my baby right now and I feel like I majorly neglected it. Before I get too deep into this post, I wanted to announce who the Sweat Pink Shoelace Winners are!!!!!

Congrats to:

Kylie, Sara, and Jenn From Wynne!!! If I can’t find your email, I will find another way to contact you and get your mailing information from you! YAY for pink shoelaces!!!! I now give you each permission to rub it in your non-pink-shoelace-running-friends faces that you will be looking sexier than they are.

I didn’t have time today to respond to your comment’s on my last post, but fear not, I will get there! I’m thankful for you even taking time to comment, let alone just reading! Thank ya, thank ya, thank ya.

Today’s workout was a short and sweet one. The weather was less than ideal, so I took the Truckles for a 1.3 mile walk around the ‘hood. The neighborhood. She’s almost got the back flip down pat when I say, “want to go for a walk?” And when she completes one, I will take a video, watch it go viral overnight, and instantly become a millionaire.

If you followed along with my travels, this weekend my husband and I made the trip to Oklahoma City to visit our brother and sister in law’s new baby boy! He was born last Wednesday, cute as a button, and healthy as can be. I posted an Instagram photo of our meeting, but in case you missed it…

BAM! Check that baby out. A-dorable. I’m in love. He makes our 5th niece/nephew, so needless to say our love is overflowing! We’re so thankful we live within driving distance of everyone, so making weekend trips to love on our little munchkins is easy peasy! I posted some photos of them bringing baby home over on the photog blog, so feel free to check them out! They mainly just make me realize how special these moments are, and I can’t wait to experience it myself! One day…far away. But until then, I will just look into these beautiful eyes and love him to pieces!

Ah, doesn’t a REAL photo just feel like a breathe of fresh air? iphone pictures are starting to wear me out.

Before we left, I received a happy, happy, happy package in the mail! The pink Pro Compression socks I had to exchange finally arrived! I absolutely can not wait to get in a long run and test these bad boys out! If it hadn’t been rainy and poopy here today I would have set out to do so, but the thunder and lightning kept us indoors. We gave them to Truckee to hold for a second, and the look on her face was priceless. “Am I really allowed to have socks in my mouth right now, guys?” What a goob.

My next endeavor at the house is to find a colorful, and functional area run for the living room. We’ve done some rearranging, and now there’s a huge patch of exposed hardwood. It’s not terrible, in fact I love our hardwood floors, but I’m trying to keep Truckee from sliding all over the place, and there’s an existing stain in the middle of this open area, AND I’m feeling the need to add some more color to our otherwise mostly brown house. I found the two pictured below online at Target. They are both under $100 for a large size, but I can’t decide if they would feel too summery once it’s fall. Thoughts? Which would you pick?

We have dark chocolate brown couches, a rock fireplace, brown mantel, chocolate brown window shades, and chocolate brown wood bookshelves and entertainment center. For reference. And my kitchen is a pretty blueish-turqoise-greyblue-ish color. But that sounds kind of tacky, but I promise it’s not.

I do believe that about wraps up this lazy Monday evening post. Not too much going on around here, well, there is, but I’ll update you on that another time. Maybe tomorrow? We’ll see what kind of mood I’m in πŸ™‚

Which rug do you like best? Do you know any awesome cheap websites to order area rugs from? Of the following types of posts, which would you most like me to work on posting more of– crafts/recipes, daily ramblings, Truckee happenings, photography tips, or blogging tips?Β

K, Go! If you don’t usually comment, you should this time, I’m really hoping for some feedback so I know you will enjoy reading Sweet Miles more!

I actually just finished reading a great post over on Presley’s blog about not trying to hard to fit into the “blogger” molds. Check it out over at Run Pretty!

What a precious baby! He is gorgeous. I like both rugs but the one of the right felt like it was starting to hypnotize me. Or maybe I’m just tired πŸ™‚

Sorry if this is a duplicate comment; I tried before and it didn’t post!
Adorable nephew! And you guys sure are lucky to have five nieces and nephews!
Truckee looks so proud holding your socks!
Lastly, I think I like the run on the left better. I love chevron, but it does look more summery to me, and I like that the floral pattern is less of a trend and just pretty!

Aww baby *cluck cluck* too cute.

Heheheh the look on your dog’s face – priceless.

As for the rugs, I like both. However I’m leaning more to the ‘chevron’ design, because it’s retroish and I love the colour.

I honestly LOVE both rugs! I don’t think you could go wrong with either. It sounds like you have a lot of brown going on, so I think that would tone down the green chevron rug and it wouldn’t hypnotize anyone πŸ˜‰ But I also really love the one on the left! I always just buy them both and test them out in the house to see how they look. It never fails to make the decision easy!

Ray Ray- So true, I really should just order both and see which one I’m ‘feeling’ more πŸ™‚

AH! I LOVE posts that ask for my opinion on home decor πŸ™‚ i am a huge fan of patterns, even though you’d never know it from my own studio- its all solids and minimalist stuff- but i do. and i think im leaning toward the one on the left… you know what would be awesome- if you could do the one on the left and then get that green pattern one as a pillow or something for your couch, because they compliment each other so well! (i’m not helping, im making the decision more expensive) OK i vote for the left! final answer.

Congrats on your new nephew, he’s adorable! I’m with you, I do miss taking real photos.
I love the chevron rug and I don’t think it would be too summery in the fall. It would also coordinate with burnt oranges and fall colors. πŸ™‚

Nicole- Thanks love! And I think so too, I’m starting to worry maybe it’s too much green, but coordinating with fall colors would be cute, good call!

I feel you on the wanting more time for blogging. I get so busy and I wish I had more time to read other blogs on regular basis like I used to before I had my own. Sigh.

    Your nephew is so precious!!

I like the rug on the left better but I’ve seen some really pretty ones at Lowes that are reasonably priced.

Oh my goodness, baby fever! What a cutie pie!

I really love both rugs but I think I like the one on the right just a bit more, it has more color in it so it’ll be easier to incorporate more color in the room. You should post a picture of the room, easier to decide! πŸ™‚
