A Week of Workouts – Bring on the Sunshine

Is it just me or has this week been an incredibly long week? On Tuesday, I was feeling like it should be Thursday, so now that it’s finally Friday I’m so glad it’s the weekend. I’ve been working hard to squeeze in my workouts this past week, and it’s felt good to be more active now that the weather has started to warm up. It’s making me so excited for spring and summer, and I’m itching to sign up for another 5k, and maybe even a longer race. I’ve been walking more, running, and doing my garage strength workouts, and I’m feeling stronger every day, slowly but surely. I sometimes find myself feeling so frustrated that I’m just not where I was 4 years ago, but then I remind myself that I DID push out two babies, so that counts for something!

I’ve gotten a few questions about what workout program I’m following or what I’m doing, and the truth is I’m not following anything! I’ve actually never followed anything or done any sort of video, or series. I’ve always done everything on my own, and made it up as I went, depending on what my goals were or how my body was feeling. I think part of that stems from being a runner, since running is such an individual thing. If you’re curious about what I am doing during my strength workouts though, I’ll be sure to share more soon if there’s interest.

Here’s a brief recap of the past 7 days in workouts.

Thursday: 3.6 mile run

Friday: 3.1 mile walk with B and his donut

Saturday: rest day (family day and gymnastics for A!)

Sunday: garage workout, strength training, 45 mins

Monday: after bedtime garage workout, strength training, 40 mins

Tuesday: rest day

Wednesday: 3.28 mile run + evening family walk

Thursday: track walk with A

This weekend I’m hoping to get another 3 mile run in, and maybe a garage workout. We’ve got some fun birthday plans in mind, and I’m hoping to unplug, and enjoy the weekend with Adam and the kids as much as possible!

Enjoy your weekend!

What are you doing to be active? Do you follow a workout program? Are you a runner? Or were you ever a runner and you’re getting back into running?

That’s a good workout week. So nice to get outside for some walks now. I’m currently training for my powerlifting meet next month. I used to have an online coach, but a few months ago went on my own and laid out a plan for a few months. After my meet I hope to get back to more walks and light running. In September I am doing my second warrior dash and excited for that.

Love reading workout week posts! I am travelling at the moment but trying to stay on track – luckily you can run just everywhere (and it’s fun to explore while doing so!).
    Have a great day!
