The Fourth of July is surprisingly one of my favorite ‘small’ holidays, or smallidays if you will. It’s just so festive, and it always involves wearing a ridiculous red, white, and blue outfit, eating delicious backyard food, and spending time with friends or family. Oh, and fireworks! Even though this year we may opt out of the late night fireworks, due to A. this giant belly and B. this giant belly + the heat. We’ll see how we’re feeling when the time comes, though. We’re for sure doing the potluck thing though, and I’m hoping my dessert is a hit!
I wanted to do a quick little look back at our past Independence Day celebrations. As with all other holidays, it’s been so fun seeing how our little family has grown and how Adeline’s excitement has exploded. Enjoying the holidays through her eyes is just the BEST and I can’t believe this time next year we’ll have an almost one year old.
July 2017 – The One With Adeline and Her Girl Gang
2016 – The One Where We Stayed Home With Our Chunky Baby And Probably Went To Bed By 9
2015 – The One Where We Apparently Didn’t Do Anything And Truckee Was Not Amused
2014 – The One With Fake Abs, A Weird Scarf, And Our BABY Nieces And Nephews
2013 – The One Where I Ran Fast
I wish the holiday was falling closer to the weekend, but having the middle of the week off is going to be quite refreshing I think. As this pregnancy has progressed, the weeks are becoming increasingly harder to get through, so any break is much appreciated!
What are your Fourth plans? How are you rocking your red, white, and blue?
Sadly, Adam’s cutoff fake abs shirt no longer exists, so we’ll have to find a classy replacement! I’m sure Walmart can hook us up.
