6 Things I’m Currently Loving: March 2016

Hey there! Popping in real quick to share a few things I’m currently loving. Check ’em out…

TKO Resistance Bands

tko resistance band review

I had never really used resistance bands until recently and I am kicking myself for being so late to the game. Resistance bands make quick workouts oh so simple, and even better, make working out while watching TV literally the easiest thing ever. Or in my case, they make quick arm workouts in your pajamas after you put the baby to bed super convenient! I’d post photos of this, but like I said, they usually occur when I’m in my PJ’s! (#truth!)

TKO’s bands have adjustable resistance levels, which means you can really customize your workout. I’ve been loving working on my arms with the bands – easy but effective exercises like curls and presses seem to get the job done fairly quickly. There is a huge array of exercises you can look up online to do with resistance bands, and I’m still learning! I’m excited to tackle some core work with the bands, I imagine they will kick my butt! So, if you aren’t in the mood to lift actual weights, or do any machines at the gym, these bands are where it’s at.

BC Hydrate Everyday Body Lotion and Tint Skin Foundation

healthy lotion for mom and baby

safe and clean foundation from beautycounter

Two products I have been using everyday religiously are Beautycounter’s Hydrate Everyday Body Lotion and Tint Skin Foundation with the Retractable Brush. The lotion is free of harmful sulfates and other dangerous ingredients, and has a clean citrus scent. The foundation is super lightweight, goes on easily, and I was thrilled that the shade I chose ended up being pretty spot on. I apply it using the retractable brush and lovvvvvvve it. I’m usually not a foundation person and have always just stuck with concealer and powder, so I’ve been loving the one-stop-shop that the foundation is providing for me. Considering I spend a lot of time with my face squished up against Adeline’s face kissing her sweet cheeks, it makes me happy knowing that the products I’m using on my face and body are perfectly safe if they get rubbed off on her too! I can’t stress enough how important it is to do your research and know what you’re putting on your skin. If you’d like to know more, shoot me an email, I’d love to chat!

fitbit charge hr

WHY AM I JUST NOW JUMPING ON THE FITBIT TRAIN?!!!! I used to honestly think I didn’t need one since I exercised and ran all the miles, but now that mom life has proven to be a bit more sedentary, I have been LOVING keeping up with my steps and motivating myself to simply move my lazy body more! It’s also been so much fun to have friends through the app that I can “compete” with and see how active they are being. I’ll do a full review soon, but I’ve got the FitBit Charge HR and am definitely impressed. If you missed my review of Pins to Kill Leggings, be sure and check them out! The leggings combined with my FitBit and I am SURE to rack up those steps! (Except I have yet to hit 10,000…how do working parents do it???)

Adeline in New Toys

Now that Adeline is really starting to come out of her shell and reach and grab and explore things, it has been so neat to watch her discover the world around her. She is really beginning to get curious, and I can just see the little wheels turning in her head! We’ve put her in the jumparoo a few times, and she likes it for a little while and then decides she’s not a fan. I think once we get it better adjusted for her height and she is able to better reach all of the little toys on it she is going to absolutely love it and I can’t wait to see her bounce around! She’s also been sitting in this fun activity seat my grandmother got for her. It’s not a Bumbo by brand, but it’s similar. It has a little extra support, and has a spinning table that attaches that has little toys on it. She looks hilarious sitting at it, and like the jumparoo, I think she’s going to really start loving it here pretty soon! I thought I wanted her to stay in the newborn phase forever, but seeing her develop and learn has made my heart so happy!

Adult Coloring Book

Adam got me this a while back, and I keep it at work for when I need a quick little mental break. They say coloring is actually really good for your mind, and can even enhance creativity! It’s really relaxing too, and is a good way to just zone out for a few minutes.

Blue Buffalo Grain Free Chicken Tenders

blue buffalo dog treats

This is obviously something I personally am not loving, but Truckee sure is!!!! As a blogger for chewy.com, I love picking out fun monthly treats for her. Poor thing is so neglected now that Adeline has come along so getting her a little something special every now and then makes her day. She will eat anything put in front of her, so we try to make sure that what we DO put in front of her is high quality! They’re made with 100% USA chicken, no artificial preservatives, and are grain and gluten free. Check them out in more detail over on chewy.com!

What are you loving lately? It’s almost Easter – what are your plans? Do you have a FitBit or other fitness tracker?

Annabelle loves the jumparoo and that same thing Adeline has! We keep it in the kithen so when i’m in there she has something to do 🙂 Love it! I have a Fitbit but haven’t used it since I was pregnant. I was really discouraged when I barely logged 1000 steps towards the end of pregnancy lol!

Totally agree on the Fitbit and adult coloring book! I wore my fitbit on my run yesterday morning, but then forgot to put it on for work and was so mad at myself! It’s rare that I forget, but when I do I feel like I’m walking for nothing lol. I got an adult coloring book for Christmas and used it a lot right after, but haven’t as much lately. Mainly because I would color while listening to an audiobook, but now I’m currently reading a book on my Kindle, so can’t multitask that way. But now I’m thinking my next book should be an audio book so I can color again!

Tint skin is such an awesome foundation! I can’t even tell that I’m wearing makeup (which I love!), but it does a great job smoothing out any fine lines, sun spots and under eye circles. So good!

I have a Fitbit Charge HR too and I LOVEEE it! I have been wearing it everyday since I got in July. During the week I rarely hit 10,000 either unless I go for a run so I love how it simply just makes me aware of how much/little I walk during the day. I have yet to get an adult coloring book but I’ve been so close to buying one several times haha. Have a great Easter!

It is SO fun to watch Buel in his Exersaucer! He looks so old to me and it’s just crazy.

    Hi there!
I just started following your blog and really enjoy your posts! I am freaking obsessed with my Fitbit and have the same one you do, even the same color! Luckily I am on my feet for most of my job, so getting 10.000 steps in is relatively easy as long as I do some form of cardio once per day in addition to my regular steps. You legit just have to walk everywhere. Park further away from work. Walk around your house aimlessly. I’ve stayed up an extra 20 minutes jumping around my bedroom to try and get my steps in for the day. And you know what? It’s calories burned and steps gained no matter what you’re doing or when!
