34 Weeks Pregnant + Mini Nursery Sneak Peek

Happy Friday to you!

I can’t believe how fast this week has flown by, but even so, I’ve been super productive in getting the nursery organized and starting the decorating process. It definitely feels good to check some things off my list!

34 weeks has been a tough one, between fatigue, uncomfortable Braxton Hicks, and heartburn like you would.not.believe! I’m pretty sure I’m a fire breathing dragon. I’m hoping this at least means she’s going to come out with some hair on her head, and hopefully not be bald as a cueball.

I really felt like she grew a lot this week, but at our appointment yesterday we found out she is still measuring right on track. I’ll take it! Her HR was 134, so a bit faster than last time, which was nice to hear! I’m starting to wonder if she’s going to have a more laid back temperament…or did I just jinx myself?

We’re getting to the point where bending over is seriously a struggle. I’ve joked about it before, but it’s near impossible to reach something in the floorboard of the car, or grab my glass of water off the coffee table. The bump has got a mind of its own! Rolling over in bed also takes some strategy and serious mental prep!

My sweet tooth has also been in full force lately, which is a HUGE change from the first half of my pregnancy where I thought for sure I had lost my mind!!! No Double Stuffed Oreos or bag of M&Ms is safe!!!

I’ve also been nesting like crazy. NO PIECE OF CLUTTER WILL BE LEFT!! I have been getting rid of junk like whoa, and trying to organize as much as possible. It still feels like we just have a lot of “stuff”, so I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like a year from now when baby junk is practically spilling out of our house.

Apparently I also only remember to take these pictures when I look like a haggard hot mess, so ignore my frizzy bun I’ve got going on! Here are the rest of this week’s highlights…

34 weeks pregnant

It’s slowly starting to sink in that we’re going to have a daughter, but still feels so surreal. Actually, I can’t even really describe what it feels like. It’s so weird preparing for someone we’ve never met, and knowing that this little life is going to be a permanent addition! Truckee is still insistent on the fact that we’re bringing home a new puppy, so I think she’s going to be a little disappointed when that new puppy cries all the time! I’ve been slowly letting her sniff her way around the nursery, just so she’s accustomed to some of the new smells, and isn’t too shell shocked when we actually bring Adeline home. We’ll also be sure to bring home a baby blanket or piece of clothing from the hospital for her to sniff before we introduce them.

Nursery Mini Sneak Peek

I finished decorating about half of the nursery last night. I’ve still got the other side of the room to finish up, so until then, here are a few quick sneaks of how it’s looking! The walls aren’t actually as dark as they appear in the pictures, but you get the point.

The overall color scheme for the room is soft browns, whites, light pink, and a hint of olive green.

The side table for the glider was actually my mother-in-laws that she let us have, and Adam spray painted it pink for me! LOVE how it turned out, and it adds the perfect pop of color to that corner.

Adeline’s crib is a DaVinci Jenny Lind 3-in-1 Convertible, and I love its classic style. I knew I wanted something simple and not too overbearing, and I think I’ll be able to use it again even for a little boy! My brother and I both had Jenny Linds when we were little, so I know it’s a great brand that will stand the test of time.

Her bedding is all from Pottery Barn Kids, and the mesh breathable bumper is just from Target. You can’t see the pink sheet pattern, but I’ll show you a close up in the full reveal. Putting that bumper on was intense! It’s two separate pieces, and I swear the directions were written for a rocket scientist. I’m still not sure it’s on 100% correct, but I’ll be sure and have someone check before we transition her into her crib. At some point I may order a matching bumper from PBK to go with her sheet, but I’m still a little paranoid about using a big bumper in the beginning.

The garland above her bed was made by a good friend of mine, and was used as decoration as my church shower! I’m obsessed with it, and love all the fabric strips! She did SUCH a great job on it!

My mom got this sweet baby pillow embroidered for my family shower, and I think it’s just too precious. I can’t wait for her to use it in her bed one day, and carry it around. For now though, it’s going to live on the glider.

Can’t wait to finish it up and show you! Hopefully we’ll be able to get the changing table put in this weekend, and I can finally hang the rest of her sweet prints and wall decorations. Stay tuned!

Tomorrow we’ve got BIG plans…it’s the annual PUPPY POOL PAWTY at our community pool! They open up the pool to dogs only, and fill it with tennis balls and frisbees galore! Truckee has been looking forward to it all year long. Be sure and follow me on Instagram to see lots of pure puppy joy!

How did your last few weeks of pregnancy go? What are you doing this weekend?

Hang in there friend! You are doing amazing!! Love that precious nursery too. Question – is your skirt from old navy? The gray and white one? If so then we have the same one!

I’m nesting like crazy too! It seems so surreal I’m almost to 35 weeks and my baby could be here in as little as three weeks. Although, my doctor thinks I’ll go between 39-41 weeks. We shall see!

The nursery looks great & I love the fabric banner. I tried to get rid of as much clutter as I could while pregnant but the baby stuff keeps coming. It’s crazy how much a tiny baby needs.

You are getting so close, mama! I was very similar in that I was constantly working on the nursery, cleaning, and doing things to prepare for baby’s arrival. It’s amazing how the mind becomes consumed by all things baby. Enjoy this pre-parenthood time and ready yourself for one of the most incredible experiences of your life! 🙂 I’ll be thinking about you!
