Happy Wednesday! Workout Wednesday – is that a thing? Yes? No? Maybe? I think everyday should be a workout day but we all know that’s wishful thinking when it comes to mom life! But, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…investing in home gym equipment has been the BEST thing I could have ever done for my postpartum fitness journey. It has been a game changer, and has allowed me to easily pop in there and squeeze in a workout in the littlest pockets of my day. My largest workouts are runs, obviously, and those take a bit of planning. But, my strength workouts that I use to supplement with are now easier than ever and I can’t believe it took so long to just make it happen. I’m a big believer in doing whatever is necessary to reach a goal. And investing in some home gym pieces and making space in the garage in order to get back into shape and find my inner #strongmom again was 100% necessary!
On Monday, during my lunch break, I scooped up Barrett and headed out to the garage for a quick 30 minute workout. After a great run on Saturday, I knew I needed to start the work week off with a good garage workout to loosen back up. I’ve been finding that mid-day workouts are my sweet spot – it’s really the best time for me to workout. Either then, or during a nap, but usually during B’s naps I’m too busy with work to sneak away. So, the lunch rush workout has been my solution. I’ll just plop Barrett down in the bouncer, and if Adeline is home, like on the weekend, she likes to sit in the wagon and watch a show on the iPad. Again, whatever it takes!
I put together this circuit and totaled it to reach 500 movements. The exercises are a combination of bodyweight and weighted, and all you really need special for this circuit is a bench or box.
